The Boeing Company has an exciting opportunity for an Experienced Optical Sensors Flight Test and Analysis Engineer (Level 3) to support the Optical Sensors Team located in Berkeley, MO. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization.

Optical Sensors team is a growing organization within Sensors and Special Programs focused on developing and integrating optical sensor solutions for the USAF and Navy Customers. These customers include F/A-18, F-15, MQ-25, T-7 and a host of proprietary program. The team provides an opportunity to gain a diverse experience in avionics development and integration through supporting our new franchise programs (e.g. MQ-25 and T-7) and the exciting activity on the F-15 (e.g. F-15 EX) and the domestic and international efforts on F/A-18.

This position will support the F-15 and F-22 Programs and responsibilities will include:

  • Support Development, Analysis and Compliance of Sensor Performance

  • Provide Sensor Predictive Data to Support Critical Program Decisions

  • Provide or Develop Sensor Modeling Data and Tools

  • Develop or update Analyst Tools Suite

  • Provide Inputs to Flight Test Plan

  • Support Flight Test Execution

  • Analyze Flight Data for Verification and/or Problem Resolution

  • Supports Program Manager & Chief Engineer to ensure program/technical excellence

  • Coordination w/ internal and external customers

  • Leads Flight Test Integration and Analysis Activities

  • Develop/maintain Sensor Interface Control Document(s)

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the selected locations.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry

  • Able to travel 10% of the time

  • 2+ years of experience as analyst or flight test engineer

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of experience with optics, lasers, electronics, mechanical or instrumentation

  • 3+ years of experience with avionics or electronics related hardware or software systems

Typical Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
