Individuals with approved accommodations will be subject to frequent COVID-19 testing. - Boeing Laser and Electro-Optical Systems is looking for an Lead FPGA Design Engineer (Level 4) in Albuquerque, New Mexico. As a FPGA Design Engineer Lead, you will analyzes customer and system requirements to develop basic architectural approaches and detailed specifications for various electronic products. Develops high-level and detailed designs consistent with requirements and specifications. Validates designs through various methods of review, testing and analysis. Identifies, tracks and statuses technical performance measures to measure progress and ensure compliance with requirements. Supports Supplier Management with make/buy recommendations and other technical services of limited scope. Provides engineering support throughout the lifecycle of the product. Investigates emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements. Works independently. Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to: Development of new FPGA VHDL code Update to existing VHDL code Review of digital electronics designs Work with software team to interface between FPGA and General Purpose Processors Implement algorithms on advanced processing platforms Work Authorization: This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. (An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required) Basic Qualifications (Required): Bachelor's of Science degree or higher from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry 5+ years of experience using FPGA devices (Zynq, Virtex/Kintex) and tool chains (Vivado/ISE) 5+ years of experience designing using hardware description languages (VHDL or Verilog) 5+ years of experience documenting digital designs Preferred (Desired) Qualifications: Experience implementing algorithms on FPGA or GPUs Experience developing VHDL infrastructure (data communication) Experience interfacing to sensor systems Typical Education/Experience:Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. Relocation: This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility. Basic relocation is available for internal candidates.
