The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) team is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer located in Berkeley, MO. The selected candidate will be responsible for the manufacturing processes and maturation of Technical/Manufacturing Readiness Reviews, Manufacturing Readiness Assessments, AS6500 Requirement / Start Right, Model Based Engineering, and Enterprise Standard Gated Process reviews for Development programs. 

Position Responsibilities: 

  • Lead Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) in analyzing product development, complex producibility studies and production/tooling philosophies
  • Refine, validate, coordinate and implement conceptual designs and manages the program architecture for build
  • Develop manufacturing plans and oversees plan optimization
  • Conduct complex producibility and variation analyses to ensure that manufacturing process capability matches requirements
  • Resolve complex technical problems
  • Serve as a project manager to ensure that contract requirements, specifications, design criteria and schedule performance are integrated and maintained
  • Lead advanced design solutions and supports research of new product or business opportunities
  • Deploy company Lean Enterprise analysis methods. Documents and communicates producibility best practices
  • Provide guidance to others through structured mentoring

Security Clearances: 

?This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.  An interim and/or final U.S. Secret clearance Post Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience):

  • Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
  • 5 or more years of experience conducting manufacturing engineering tasks using any of the following: Work Instructions (WI), Manufacturing Execution System (MES), Model Based Definition, Model Based Instructions processes and procedures
  • Experience with the concepts of Model Based Engineering, Digital Thread, and Digital System Modeling

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills & Experience):

  • 3 or more years of experience in planning and developing product quality by applying APQP and PFMEA
  • UG NX experience
  • 3 years of experience leading and facilitating large LEAN, Six Sigma, Process Management or continuous improvement workshops with all levels including executive management
  • 3+ years of experience using AutoCAD and/or CATIA
  • 1+ years of experience in fabrication tooling, working with tooling and tooling processes, or working in a tooling technical field

Typical Education/Experience: 

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
