The Phantom Works Systems Engineering and Integration Team (SEIT) is seeking an Experienced Systems Engineer to support software development efforts on one of multiple proprietary programs.

The Experienced Systems Engineer applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify a lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions. This will include managing the effort to develop software throughout all phases of the software development life-cycle (requirements, architecture, implementation, and verification).

The systems engineer will apply systems engineering principles to a Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) software environment. The ability to work in a collaborative team environment on-site and across engineering subject areas will be imperative to this role.  The selected individual will work in a fast paced, innovative environment where excellent technical, organizational, leadership, written and verbal communications skills are essential. This position is located in Berkeley MO.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate Systems Engineering experience to implement, maintain, and refine the systems engineering approach for software development.
  • Perform activities such as software data item reviews, JIRA administration, sprint planning, managing software licenses, and overall integration of the software development effort.
  • Support planning and execution of software configuration and data management processes
  • Support the program in implementing MBSE as part of digital engineering to meet customer expectations 
  • Apply interdisciplinary, collaborative approaches to plan, design, develop and verify complex systems solutions

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.).  Investigation type and last investigation date must be visible on resume.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
  • A minimum of 5 years of engineering work experience or equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g., PhD , Master+2 years’ related work experience).
  • 3+ years of systems engineering experience involving system architecture development, including system requirements, functional decomposition and allocation, integrated design, analysis, and verification.
  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools, such as CAMEO or similar Systems Modeling Language (SysML)-compatible tool for systems architecture and model development.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience across technical domains and life cycle phases
  • Experience or familiarity with Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) software build pipeline techniques and software factories such as DevOps & DevSecOps
  • Experience or familiarity with industry tools or development techniques such as: Jira, Gitlab, Ansible, and Artifactory

Typical Education & Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
