The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Mid-Level Software Engineer (Level 3) to join the F15 Mission Systems Software team located in St. Louis, MO.  This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization.

We are seeking a highly motivated Software Engineer to design and implement new capabilities in the F-15 Operational Flight Program (OFP) for both the United States Air Force (USAF) and international customers.  The candidate will join one of the Agile scrum teams that cover a wide range of aircraft functionality. Software capabilities will be developed for the Advanced Display Core Processor II (ADCP II), the brains of the Eagle. The successful candidate will implement and test new cutting-edge capabilities and integrate them with a variety of other aircraft subsystems.

Position Responsibilities:

• Develops, documents and maintains architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems

• Develops and maintains code and integrates software components into a fully functional software system

• Develops software verification plans, test procedures and test environments, executing the test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met

• Develops, selects, tailors and deploys software processes, tools and metrics

• Executes and documents software research and development projects

• Serves as a subject matter expert for software domains, system-specific issues, processes and regulations

• Troubleshoots software issues

• Works under general direction

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements:

This position requires the ability to obtain a Secret US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.  Ability to obtain Secret US Security clearance (Post-Start).

Required Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

• Ability to obtain Secret US Security Clearance (Post-Start)

• Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or other technical degree

• 4+ years of experience as a Software Engineer

• 3+ years of experience in C/C++ and/or Ada

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• Agile/SAFe development experience

• Experience with DevOps tools, such as GitLab (CI/CD), Git Bash, Gradle, Jira, Jenkins, and Artifactory

• Desirable programming languages include: Ada, C, C++, Python

• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate with stakeholders of different backgrounds and skill levels

• Experience developing embedded real-time software

• Experience working with Real-time Operating Systems (RTOS)

Typical Education/Experience:

• Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience)

• In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard

Travel:

Occasional travel may be required but would be less than 10%

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.  Basic relocation will be offered for eligible internal candidates.
