Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking a Mid Body Quality Manager (Level K) to join our 787 Mid Body Quality team based in North Charleston, SC.

The Quality Manager will be responsible for inspection activities, production control, process improvement, and Lean/BPS. In this role, there will be regular interaction with the cross-functional production support team, Operations, senior leadership, and regulatory agencies. This position requires strong leadership and communication skills, the ability to problem solve and be proactive to identify issues, and to develop and communicate corrective action plans that drive defect elimination and first pass quality.


This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.


Position Responsibilities:

  • Performs management activities across multiple (2 or more) Quality Management Job Families.
  • Develops and implements business plans, policies and procedures and develops interpersonal and technical strategies.
  • Provides education and mentor on the Quality Management System.
  • Acquires and handles resources and leads process improvements.
  • Develops and manages relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, suppliers and direct reports.
  • Manages, coaches, develops, and motivates employees.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years of experience in Aerospace, Manufacturing, Quality, or experience in a regulated industry.
  • 5+ years of experience in a Quality Assurance.
  • 3+ years of experience in leading teams (This includes managing team assignments, tracking status and developing a team’s talent.)
  • 3+ years of experience with interpersonal and team building skills performed in a cross-functional environment.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's degree in related field.
  • Experience in quality leadership.
  • Experience working in production support.
