The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join Phantom Works located in  Colorado Spring, CO, El Segundo, CA or Saint Louis, MO.  This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization.

The Multi-Domain Capabilities organization in Phantom Works is seeking unique engineering talent to help us develop, integrate, and demonstrate the next generation of multi-domain capabilities, command and control, communications, datalinks and networking – all in support of our warfighting community.  Our team is looking to rapidly expand our baseline capabilities to support new and existing contracts and our expansion of next generation research and development efforts.  We have immediate openings, entry level and experienced technical staff, for a wide range of engineering and program management talent and are excited to discuss our opportunities with you.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.  

Position Responsibilities:

• Experience and knowledge of software design and development practices
• Understanding and experience with software and hardware design, development, integration and check-out processes and techniques
• Experience with rapid prototyping design and development for software solutions
• Must have proven ability to work independently or with teams made up of various cross functional areas and across multiple company and supplier sites
• Work across teams (and with customers) to design and develop unique software solutions to solve MDC and ABMS problems
• Experience with software development techniques for C++, Java, Python, and other coding languages and capabilities
• Knowledge and experience with DevSecOps required

Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements:

This position requires an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

• Bachelor or Master of Science degree from an accredited course of study in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics or Physics
• 9+ years of direct experience in C++, Java, and/or Python software prototype development, research and development design, development and integration of networking, communications and datalink software capabilities and subsystems elements.
• Prior experience working on a Consortium type activity required.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• Active Top Secret Security Clearance.
• Demonstrated experience working on a team of hardware and software engineers through design and develop of prototype or development type programs, including for research and development projects.
• Ability to work independently or within a multi-skill engineering team.
• Demonstrated experience developing complex software engineering solutions in real-time systems and the ability to organize and communicate concisely to the team leadership.

Typical Education/Experience:

• Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years’ related work experience, Master+3 years' related work experience)
• In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard

Summary pay range: $101,000 - $180,000
