The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) team is seeking an Associate Flight Crew Integration / Human Factors Engineer to join the team in Houston, TX.

In this position, you will have the opportunity to lead engineering and technical activities in GN&C as well as modeling and simulation, aerodynamics, avionics and other areas associated with Flight Engineering. In the role you will develop and execute your team’s project plans, shape departmental business and technical strategies, goals, objectives and implement key departmental policies and procedures. You will have the opportunity cultivate and maintain a wide range of relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports. In addition to providing leadership for your assigned team members, you will have the chance to collaborate with fellow managers to develop and motivate your combined teams to achieve excellence on multiple exciting and challenging projects.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Flight Crew Integration leader in all tasks

  • Establish Flight Software Priorities on behalf of the Astronaut Crew

  • Prioritize Astronaut Flight Crew issues and track issues to closure (i.e. Gitlab)

  • Interface with Astronaut Flight Crew on Starliner Crew accommodations and cargo

  • Develop and organize software integration lab testing with Astronaut Flight Crew

  • Report on progress, issues, and concerns regarding Flight Crew Integration

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, or physics

  • 1+ years of systems engineering experience

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 1+ years of light procedure and flight crew publications and software

  • 1+ years of troubleshooting and testing flight simulators hardware and software

  • Experience with NASA and Human Spaceflight

  • Human factors engineering

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Relocation:

Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
