Boeing Commercial Airplanes is hiring for an Experienced Flight Readiness Technician (FRT) (Level C) for Variable Shifts. This position will support the 787 Program Boeing South Carolina Delivery Center Operations Team in North Charleston, South Carolina

This position will provide critical production support to the Delivery Center including improving production efficiency, safety and optimizing product quality.   

Qualified candidates will perform routine final component installation and verification, as well as, systems operational functional validation testing. Flight Readiness Technicians perform rework, modification, maintenance, preflight and post-flight checks for delivery, including, troubleshooting pre and post-flight checks and performs maintenance and modification actions for delivery.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Performs flight test installations and aircraft functional testing.
  • Troubleshoots pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical and avionics systems to isolate mechanical and/or electrical/electronic faults and assists in repairing faulty components.
  • Pre-flight and post-flight checks and performs maintenance and modification actions.
  • Resolves identified problems during operation and testing of deliverable products.
  • Verifies the accuracy of work performed and may conduct self-inspection. 
  • Performs system & sub-system pre-delivery inspections and aircraft maintenance in preparation for delivery.
  • Participates in determining details of assignments to accomplish a wide range of objectives. 
  • Plans, schedules and arranges own activities with the assistance of lead. Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Exhibits Boeing Behaviors.
  • Must be able to work any shift including days, nights and weekends. 
  • Minimum 3 years of Avionics and/or electrical experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with live aircraft systems and flight operations.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with Foreign Object Debris (FOD) risk.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant license.
  • Minimum 3 years of Aerospace, Fabrication, or Manufacturing experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of 787 systems to include diagnosing, troubleshooting and resolving technical or operational issues/procedures.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience Boeing Production System.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience using CMES and Velocity software.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with Field/Flight Line Operations.

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. High School diploma/GED) and typically 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. vocational school/Associate+2 years' related work, Bachelor, etc.).
