Boeing's Disruptive Computing & Network (DC&N) team is looking for a Senior Cloud/DevSecOps Engineer to help create world class, next generation disruptive systems and technologies. The successful candidate will lead in the design and implementation of our cloud solution and maintain a modern system deployment to the cloud environment with a Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) workflows for system build, test and deploy. In this position, you will collaborate with other world-class scientists, researchers, and engineers innovating on a range of technologies including: Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning (AI/ML), Advanced Training & Simulation, Production Analytics, Autonomy, Electro-Optical/Infrared Sensing, Cybersecurity, Disruptive Computing & Networks, and High-Fidelity Digital Twin & Virtualization.

As part of Boeing Research & Technology's (BR&T) Mission Systems & Autonomy (MS&A) software capability, our software engineers use their expertise to dream up next-generation software capabilities for amazing aerospace, satellite, and autonomy platforms. We develop cutting edge sensors and mission systems, high bandwidth communication systems, large-scale simulation systems, space and satellite systems, avionics virtual machines as part of high fidelity digital twins that will improve the future of software development, airplane and flight controls, cyber security solutions, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and much more. Our products help solve  Boeing's most challenging problems across Commercial Airplanes, Defense Space & Security, and Global Services businesses.

Projects can range from new cyber security solutions for the revolutionary 787 Dreamliner to innovative aircraft, creating virtual avionics development test environments across several commercial, defense, satellite, and space platforms, satellite payload technologies, and autonomy. 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and sustainment of Continuous Integration (CI) pipelines for automated deployment of the highly available, mission critical cloud or enterprise platform product software for integration and test and operations

  • Create scripts and templates to build development systems

  • Lead analysis, design, develop and implementation activities to install, configure and maintain infrastructure, software and components in cloud platform utilizing everything as code, Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Configuration as Code (CaC), for deployments

  • Lead activities to ensure alignment of use cases and objectives with architecture and security

  • Establish guidance and direction to DevSecOps developers and administrators

  • Troubleshoots application deployment issues

  • Research/analyze issues (such as application integration, performance etc.) and provide recommendations and resolution

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or chemistry

  • 3+ years of experience with object oriented software development (C/C++, Java)

  • 3+ years of experience automating software builds, unit tests, integration tests, deployment, and installations using a DevSecOps tool chain (Jenkins, Nexus, Artifactory, etc)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience using Agile or SAFe methodology

  • Experience in deploying, administering, maintaining and upgrading one or more of these applications: Atlassian Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, or JFrog Artifactory, Gitlab, Jenkins, Maven, Gradle, etc.

  • Experience with automation and provisioning of cloud environments or on-prem infrastructure

  • Experience implementing AWS solutions design and deployment of enterprise-scale applications

  • Experience developing guidelines and best practices for cloud-oriented development & implementations including containers and container orchestration

  • 1+ years hands on experience with Terraform

  • 1+ years hands on experience with Ansible

  • Experience with security controls such as DoD RMF

  

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard
