Airframe Customer Support Engineering is seeking multiple Associate Multidiscipline Engineers to join our team and make an immediate impact on both urgent and long-term fleet support in Seal Beach, California.


You will be able to combine the deep expertise and resources of the entire Boeing enterprise with the flexibility and fast pace of a small company setting. You will have opportunities to collaborate with people from all over the world to create and deliver innovative solutions to complex technical problems, and to learn how to develop a full structural repair and return an airplane to service in as little as 4 hours.

Boeing Customer Support operates on a 24/7/365 basis. Some non-standard shifts (e.g. night time, weekend) are available to interested candidates. All positions require a willingness to work flexible schedules and shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays if needed to support our fleet. Some travel may be required to support our customers as well as to have learning experiences to enhance your career.

 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Performs structural analysis to determine structural integrity (margins of safety), using classical techniques and Boeing tools.

  • Develops structural math models and performs analysis, using finite element methods, to develop internal loads and stresses.

  • Creates strength check notes in support of document analysis.

  • Assists in the development of in-house tools to enable efficient performance of engineering tasks.

  • Resolving structural issues to help return airplanes into service.

  • Developing and analyzing repairs to be published in the Structural Repair Manual or Service Bulletins.

  • Perform detailed investigations and analyses to preclude safety issues.

  • Performing damage tolerance evaluations and crack growth analyses to determine airplane inspection requirements.

  • Communicate with External Customers

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent

This position allows telecommuting, but will require the candidate to be onsite most days.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical, Aerospace, Structural or Civil Engineering.

  • 2+ years of experience working with or on an engineering team

  • Must be willing to be on call 24x7 as required to support emergent airline customer requirements

  • Experience using excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate with leaders, colleagues and customers in an engineering environment

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience with Transport, Boeing 7-Series or McDonnell Douglas Aircraft is a plus.

  • Master of Science in Mechanical, Civil or Aerospace engineering preferred.

Education/ Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
