The Boeing Defense Systems Space Electronics Engineering organization in El Segundo, CA is looking for Associate RF Microwave Engineers (Level 2), whose area of expertise include RF/microwave/millimeter-wave electronics' design, development, verification and test. These positions offer unique opportunities to work in fast-paced teams working complex technical challenges in support of satellite communications programs. Electrical Engineers will collaborate with other engineering subject areas, including mechanical engineering, systems engineering and specialty engineering, as well as production operations, and program management. 

Position Responsibilities: 

  • Assists in developing and validating performance requirements for radio frequency (RF), microwave, and millimeter wave electronics for space-based communication systems, including low noise amplifiers, frequency converters, solid state power amplifiers, and T&C transponders

  • Assists in the development and validation of environmental requirements for above RF electronic units, including mechanical/structural, thermal, electromagnetic capability, radiation environments.

  • Assists in the development and validation of interface requirements for above RF electronic units, including mechanical, thermal, electrical power, harness, telemetry and command interfaces.

  • Assists in developing architectures to integrate components into higher level systems and platforms

  • Performs trade studies, modeling, simulation and other forms of analysis to predict component and interconnects performance and to optimize design around established requirements

  • Defines and conducts simple tests to validate performance of designs to requirements.

  • Collects and analyzes data on supplier and partner performance to ensure compliance to requirements

  • Provides support to products throughout their lifecycle from manufacturing to customer use by recommending engineering solutions to issues

  • Supports project management by preparing and presenting project status data

  • Writes simple sections of proposals to support development of new business

  • Works under general supervision

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the El Segundo CA location.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance post start, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.

An interim and/or final U.S. top secret clearance Post Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering or technical field

  • 2 or more years of engineering experience or a Masters’ degree

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Electrical Engineering degree

  • Experience in RF hardware design

  • Experience in Digital circuit design

  • System engineering experience

  • Master of Science in Engineering

Typical Education & Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
