The Boeing Company is currently seeking a First Level Electrical Engineering Manager Level K to lead an Electrical Design and Integration (EDI) team within Aircraft Modernization & Modification (AMM). AMM, headquartered in Oklahoma City, OK.  Teams provide high-quality, affordable aircraft engineering solutions and support to its military, commercial, and heads of state aircraft customers throughout the United States and around the world.

As a First Level Electrical Engineering EDI Manager, you will lead a team responsible for electrical wire harness design and electrical wire routing design for Airborne Surveillance, Command & Control aircraft, Executive Transport aircraft, or Bomber aircraft. The successful candidate will provide mentoring and coaching to all levels of engineers providing knowledge transfer to aid in growing our next generation of leaders and engineers. Management responsibilities include managing resources for the daily engineering assignments that deal with Boeing Military Aircraft, and Military Derivative Aircraft (AEW&C, AWACS, C-32/C-40, E-4B, VC-25A, B-1B, B-2, B-52, and others). Must be willing to relocate to Oklahoma City if not currently residing in the area.

Position Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include managing resources, processes, program support and AMM participation in a manner that supports successful Program and BDS execution;

  • Lead EDI engineering team that provides wire design and wire installation technical expertise and program execution for AMM supported platforms

  • Mentoring and coaching all levels of engineers providing knowledge transfer to aid in growing our next generation of leaders and engineers

  • Executes integrated organizational plans, policies and procedures and supports the development of business and technical strategies, goals, objectives in accordance with AMM and BDS business goals and objectives

  • Acquires resources for organizational activities, supports technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements

  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports

  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.

  • Manages, develops and motivates employees

  • Supports work with customers to develop and document complex electronic and electrical system requirements.

  • Manages team supporting work to analyze and translate requirements into system architecture, hardware and software designs and interface specifications.

  • Leads team working to test and validate to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements.

  • Solves problems concerning fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle.

  • Researches specific technology advances for potential application to company business needs.

  • Acquires resources for organizational activities, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.

Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements:
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Required Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree or higher from an accredited course of study, in a technical field

  • 5 or more years of experience in an engineering related role

  • 5 or more years of experience leading teams


Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Previous experience in the defense or aerospace industry

  • Previous experience in Electrical Harness/Cable/Wire Design and Routing

  • Previous experience in Management

  • Active U.S. Security Clearance
