The Boeing Company has an exciting opportunity for an Experienced Systems Engineer Support Analyst to join our Customer Engineering team located in Everett, WA or Renton, WA.

This role will support key software and data improvements to the Customer Configuration value stream. As a Systems Engineer Support Analyst you will interface frequently with counterparts throughout the Customer Engineering organization and quickly learn about how we offer, track, and manage the various airplane features chosen by each airline customer.

They will also possess strong time management and organization skills, an ability to work across functional groups and organizations, and able to concurrently execute multiple deliverables and track to multiple deadlines. Exceptional teaming skills in developing innovative ways to effectively meet customer needs and a passion to thrive and adapt in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment will help the candidate excel. The right candidate has strong interpersonal skills where teamwork and collaboration are of the utmost importance and is willing to learn new skills, expand knowledge, and adapt to technological and business changes.

This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with members of the Customer Engineering team to understand process pain points, develop solution concepts, and create/test new or enhanced application functionalities.  That work may include building small-scale architectures, functional/non-functional requirements, and product or data documentation.

  • Lead conversations with other solution developers, IT partners, and data architects to ensure system integration, data integrity, and efficient process development. 

  • Provide customer support, application troubleshooting, and overall maintenance to keep systems up-to-date and running smoothly.

  • Use your analytics skills to research and compile data into useful deliverables, including system feeds and standard reports. 

  • You should be comfortable with complex structured data, and be proficient in explaining technical issues to less-technical team members.

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee

Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor)

  • 5 years’ related work experience

  • Skilled in developing and maintaining tables, views, and stored procedures on Microsoft SQL Server databases.

  • Proficient in querying, analyzing, and compiling complex data from various sources: Oracle, Teradata, Microsoft SQL Server.

  • Experience using T-SQL or PL/SQL scripting languages.

  • Skilled in developing and debugging software using one or more of the following:

    • C#

    • JavaScript

    • ASP.NET

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4+ years working collaboratively with end-users developing/clarifying requirements, proposing solution concepts, and developing successful software/data solutions.

  • Experience developing, testing, and integrating new technologies into existing systems or systems under development.

  • Experience assisting in the evaluation and implementation of new technologies.

  • Experience working directly with engineering teams on products for both internal and external audiences.

  • Experience building, deploying, and scaling applications using open source Platform as a Service.

  • 2+ years designing or maintaining complex data structures.

  • Experience applying UX concepts/practices.

  • Experience creating customer facing solutions using one or more of the following:

    • Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)

    • DevOps (CI/CD)

    • VBA

    • jQuery, Vue.js, or AngularJS

    • Kubernetes and Tanzu

    • XML and JSON

    • SharePoint development

    • ColdFusion

Typical Education & Experience:  

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience, 9 years' related work experience, etc.).
