Structures Design Engineer will be a part of a high-performing team that is immersed in high development projects in support of the 787 Production System.  As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of aircraft and sub-system structural designs and collaborate with leaders in throughout the organization to pave the way in creating a well-integrated and optimized design.

This position is a hybrid position that allows some telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform work onsite in North Charleston, SC.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Performs basic structural analysis using well defined analysis tools to develop the structural environment, characteristics and performance.

  • Supports test execution and analyzes/reports test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.

  • Defines and documents certification and test results to substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied.

  • Supports in-service products by investigating failures and analyzing improvements. Works under general supervision.

The position must meet Export Control Compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.


Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelors of Science (or greater) from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry, or other technical degree.

  • 1+ years of experience working with aircraft stress analysis/structural analysis.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience with composite structures and fuselage stress analysis.

  • Able to support regular and emergent domestic or international travel to support our customers. Willing to travel 15-20% of the time.


Typical Education/ Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
