Space Launch System is seeking an Entry Level Electrical Engineer to be a part of the Instrumentation team in Huntsville, AL. The Engineer will work in an Office and with the instrumentation team on the procurement of a multitude of sensors that will be installed in critical locations throughout the Space Launch System.

This is an entry level position that will be lead by a Technical Lead Engineer with extensive mentoring skills. The responsibilities include writing requirements documents, working with suppliers all the way from initial award of the contract to ultimately delivery of products to the production team for installation on the rocket. The Engineer will be expected to interface closely with the Boeing team, with the customer NASA and with the supplier.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Assists with the development and documentation of electronic and electrical system requirements.
  • Develops requirements documents for suppliers and works with Boeing and NASA documents and personnel to complete the documentation.
  • Completes Technical reviews of supplier proposals and woks with the Boeing and NASA team to assist the supplier from kickoff to Preliminary and Critical Design Reviews, Qualification Testing and ultimate delivery for installation.

This position is expected to be hybrid or full time onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work a minimum of onsite 2-3 days/week at the Huntsville, AL location

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R.§120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

This requires the ability to obtain access to a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) facility.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience): 

  • Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):  

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in electrical engineering


Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Relocation:

Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
