Boeing Global Services is currently seeking an Associate-Level Mechanical System and Structural Analysis Engineer to become part of the Large Aircraft Modification and Sustainment Engineering team in Oklahoma City, OK.

The Large Aircraft Modification and Sustainment Engineering teams are looking for teammates interested in performing mechanical systems, structures design, and stress engineering work.  These teams primarily support the Legacy Tankers (KC-135, KC-10, KC-767) and some commercial derivatives aircraft (E-8, E-6).

The successful candidate will develop, integrate and document mechanical and fluid system and thermal environment requirements to establish the system design. Develops, maintains, or modifies mechanical and fluid system, component and installation designs, using 3-D Computer Aided Engineering tools and/or other design methods, to provide product definition to other engineering groups, production operations, suppliers and external customers throughout the product lifecycle. Performs, integrates and documents mechanical, fluid and thermal analyses and test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications. Manages supplier development, test and production activities and coordinates with the supplier to optimize the design and achieve program goals. Develops new design/analysis processes and tools to improve effectiveness, quality and efficiency of the development effort. Investigates emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Supports the development and documentation of mechanical and fluid system and thermal environment.

  • Supports the development, maintenance or modification of system designs/proposals to provide design documentation and high-level requirements to downstream users/customers.

  • Performs limited detail design development and modification of mechanical and fluid system installations.

  • Assists in preparing technical documents for mechanical components and systems.

  • Assists with documentation of structural and interior payload system requirements to establish the system design.

  • Assists with development, maintenance and modification of payload system and component designs, using 3-D Computer Aided Design tools and/or other design methods, to provide product definition to other engineering groups, production operations, suppliers and external customers throughout the product lifecycle.

  • Assists with management of supplier development, test and production activities to optimize the design and achieve program goals.

  • Performs basic structural analysis using well defined analysis tools to develop the structural environment, characteristics and performance.

  • Supports test execution and analyzes/reports test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.

  • Supports in-service products by investigating failures and analyzing improvements.

  • Works under general supervision.

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.

This position allows some telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. (Oklahoma City, Ok).

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or other technical degree.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience in Aerospace Engineering.

  • Experience working on cross functional teams.

Typical Education & Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Relocation:

Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense (Oklahoma City, Ok).
