The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Maritime Undersea Configuration Management Specialist located in Huntington Beach, CA who is highly motivated and excited to work in a multi-disciplined, collaborative engineering environment for advanced software systems in development. The specialist will work with a multi-disciplined team of engineers to identify applicable changes, manage version control, and ensure appropriate processes are followed to release and distribute products to internal and external customers.

The position is for our proprietary programs under our Integrated Missions portfolio, and may provide the occasional opportunity to travel to accomplish knowledge transfer and collaboration with the technical team at each site. If you are an experienced, energetic Configuration Management Specialist with good communication skills (oral and written) and a desire to work in a dynamic environment with a broad range of engineers from many skill areas, then this opportunity is for you.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Participates in the development and implementation of Configuration and Data Management standards, processes, systems and tools

  • Oversee and coach producers of data regarding our configuration management release process including change request generation, version management, help with setting up peer reviews, addressing findings, etc.

  • Become an additional ‘power user’ of the program’s data and configuration management tool (PIMS) under the mentorship of experts.

  • Support audits and reviews to ensure products meet requirements.

  • Works under general direction to coordinate and conduct product and subsystem level technical design reviews and audits for new and derivative products

  • Perform software baseline audits to ensure products contain only the approved content

  • Coordinate with program Configuration Management to ensure appropriate release and distribution of software products

  • Contribute in an Agile development environment using Jira, BitBucket/git, and Confluence

  • Monitor and perform Data Management tasks, including program Contractual Data release and deliveries

  • Works under general supervision

  • Self-motivated with ability to work in team environment

  • Track incoming and outgoing hardware assets in support of program software teams

Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements:

This position requires an active Top Secret / SCI U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • This position requires an active Top-Secret SCI U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)

  • 3+ years of experience leading/managing Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) and Contract Data Requirement List (CDRLs) and/or Supplier Data Requirement List (SDRLs) for complex products

  • Experience with both formal software deliveries and engineering builds

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience with Agile software development

  • Experience using PIMS (data management tool)

  • Demonstrated interest in continuous learning and development as well as process improvement

  • Attention to detail, verbal and written communication across organizations

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor+1 years' related work experience, 5 years' related work experience, etc.).
