The Boeing Electrical Engineering Core Group is seeking Electronic and Electrical Technical Designers – Level 3.

This position requires the candidate to work out of Oklahoma City, OK. 

The candidate will be responsible for developing test procedures, conducting test, troubleshooting, and writing test reports in accordance with MIL-STD-461 and DO-160 for various systems on a multitude of air and space platforms recognized around the world.  The candidate will also maintain lab equipment and partake in on-aircraft tests in accordance with MIL-STD-464.  This position is for an experienced lab tech professional with a good understanding of what it takes to grow, maintain, and run an electrical engineering lab.

Primary job responsibilities will include:

  • Work with engineering leaders to coordinate, test, and verify EMI/EMC requirements with teammates, customers, and system architects through the development and sustainment of various Boeing systems
  • Work with teammates through the development of EMI/EMC Control Plans, Test Procedures, and Test Reports
  • Support engineering system design and functionality validation activities
  • Support the development and maintenance of moderately-complex product installation designs and part designs
  • Support coordinate activities and products with internal partners and external suppliers
  • Support project management by tracking and reporting project status, by generating bids and requirements, and by providing work statement, budget, and schedule

Other job responsibilities may include:

  • Perform Nuclear Hardening, HIRF/Lightning, RF COSITE, and Antenna Coupling analyses and test
  • Develop and implement Test Automation for lab and aircraft-level testing
  • Apply EMI engineering technology experience to document and solve complex problems
  • Apply conversion, correction, and antenna factors to EMI/EMC analyses and test
  • Work on a cross-functional support team and communicate clearly in various review boards both internally & externally

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.  An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Must have 3 or more years of work experience in the defense or aerospace industry
  • Must have 2 or more years of work experience working in an electrical engineering lab
  • Must have experience using RF test and measurement instrumentation (such as receivers, antennas, analyzers, and oscilloscopes)
  • Must be familiar with the Electromagnetic concepts (such as RF isolation, shielding, grounding, and filtering)
  • Must be willing to travel at least 25% of the time as required

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Active U.S. Security Clearance
  • Previous experience working in an Electromagnetic Effects lab
  • International Association for Radio, Telecommunications and Electromagnetics (iNARTE) Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Specialist Certification
  • Knowledge of digital signal processing
  • Knowledge and experience establishing, designing and verifying Power Quality requirements and testing using MIL-STD-704
  • Knowledge and experience generating Power Quality test procedures and test reports
  • Hands-on experience with MatLab
  • Experience with MS Office tool suite
  • Experience developing and delivering presentations (verbal and/or written) to key stakeholders

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor+1 years' related work experience, 5 years' related work experience, etc.).
