The Boeing Electrical Engineering Core Group is seeking LabVIEW Electrical Support Equipment Design Engineers – Level 3.

This position requires the candidate to work out of Oklahoma City, OK. 

The candidate will be responsible for designing and developing LabVIEW programming to support a multitude of air and space platforms recognized around the world.  The engineer will work directly with Electromagnetic Effects, Electrical Power, and Electronic Products Engineers to develop software that will interface test and production equipment for products being developed throughout Boeing.  This position is for an experienced Electrical Engineering professional with deep knowledge and highly developed technical expertise in automated test design.

Primary job responsibilities will include:

  • Apply knowledge and experience to rapidly maintain, modify, and develop LabVIEW products in a Lab environment for a variety of technical scenarios
  • Coordinate and lead LabVIEW activities with teammates, customers, and program personnel through the development and sustainment of various Boeing systems
  • Develop and mentor teammates through the development of a variety of LabVIEW efforts including signal generation using NI FPGA DIO
  • Implement basic communication protocols such as GPIB, UDP, and Serial to interface with embedded systems
  • Support project management by tracking and reporting project status, by generating bids and requirements, and by providing work statement, budget, and schedule

Other job responsibilities may include:

  • Review supplier and partner qualification data for Electronic Products compatibility
  • Analyze customer and system requirements and development of architectural approaches and detailed specifications for various electronic products
  • Develop high-level and detailed designs consistent with requirements and specifications
  • Identify, track, and status technical performance measures to measure progress and ensure compliance with requirements
  • Plan research projects to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements
  • Research specific technology advances for potential application to company business needs

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.  An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Must possess a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
  • Must have 5 or more years of previous experience in the defense or aerospace industry
  • Must have 3 or more years pf previous experience in automated test design
  • Must have at least 2 years of experience with LabVIEW (Version 2018 64-bit)
  • Must have at least 2 years of experience with LabVIEW FPGA (Version 2018 32-bit)
  • Must have previous experience with programmable power supplies
  • Must have knowledge and experience in basic communication protocols (GPIB, UDP, Serial)
  • Must have general knowledge and understanding of software as it applies to special test equipment
  • Must be willing to travel at least 25% of the time as required

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • An ABET accredited Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry is preferred
  • Active U.S. Security Clearance
  • Previous experience in signal generation using NI FPGA DIO
  • Knowledge and experience with Video protocols and video streaming
  • Knowledge of digital signal processing
  • Expertise with troubleshooting and development of test solutions

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Relocation:

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility and also a possible Sign-On bonus if qualified.
