Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has a great opportunity for an Associate Electrical System Design Engineer (level 2) to support Mission Computing Hardware in Oklahoma City, OK.

This position will serve as engineering support for International AWACS Mission Computing Hardware.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develops and documents moderately complex electronic and electrical system requirements.

  • Designs hardware, software and interface specifications.

  • Tests and validates to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements.

  • Assists in monitoring supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements.

  • Solves problems concerning fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle.

  • Researches specific technology advances for potential application to company business needs.

This position allows for some telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform work onsite at the listed location.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry

  • Experience with electrical engineering

Preferred Qualification (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 1 or more years of work experience in avionics design and analysis engineering

  • Experience working with mission systems architectures on a defense program

  • Familiarity with computer architecture and MIL/legacy communications standards (1553, Link 11/16, networking (Ethernet), SAS, CPCI, etc.).

  • Experience with Computer Aided Design (CAD) software

  • Experience troubleshooting complex issues where the root cause may not be immediately clear.

  • Experience using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel.

  • Experience with MIL-STD-810/704/461 and/or the commercial equivalent DO-160.

Typical Education/Experience:

Typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
