The Missiles and Weapons Systems (MWS) organization is a dynamic and growing with a leadership team focused on attracting and developing top talent in support of critical missions for National Defense and Strategic Deterrence. Connected to our customers' missions, we deliver unique capability through our exceptional talent. The programs that we support in Huntsville, Alabama include Ground-based Midcourse Defense, Next Gen Interceptor, precision-guided munitions, and Integrated Air & Missile Defense products (PAC-3, Avenger, Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense System; National Team, and Strategic Deterrence Systems (which includes Minuteman Intercontinental Ballistic Missile support and guidance system repair).  

Boeing seeks motivated and talented Senior Project Engineers to join the MWS Systems Engineering Team in Huntsville, Alabama. There are multiple positions available.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Leading planning, coordination, execution of detailed engineering activities across multiple MWS programs, projects, and systems

  • Facilitating recurring meetings, technical exchanges and reviews involving multiple internal and external organizations across multiple engineering disciplines

  • Lead integration of technical parameters and activities to assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces

  • Lead assessments and collaborative resolution of complex cross-functional technical issues amongst multiple diverse stakeholders

  • Drives results through the development, implementation and maintenance of rigorous processes, tools, schedules and metrics

  • Maintains current data and providing status on technical and schedule performance issues

  • Leads discrete planning of work efforts and Agile implementation to maintain engineering execution schedules

  • Leads and manages changes to engineering Statement of Works (SOWs) and assess impacts to these changes

  • Support proposal development and lead engineering execution by identifying activities, resources, and tasks required to complete the work statement

  • Complete lesson learned analysis and champion innovative and corrective actions to address lessons learned

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.   An interim and/or final U.S. secret clearance Post Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.

  • 5 or more years’ experience leading projects or engineering teams.

  • 5 or more years’ experience of working both independently and in a team environment.

  • Willing and able to obtain a US Government Secret Security Clearance

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience working across a team representing multiple skill areas with internal and external resources and customers is preferred

  • Experience with complex systems development and integration preferred

  • Experience with leading project execution to complete the work statement is preferred

  • Experience with implementation and maintenance of systems engineering tools, schedules and metrics (i.e. Earned value management, DOORs, CAMEO)

  • Experience with Model Based Engineering

  • Experience with Agile/JIRA

  • Trouble shooting engineering skills

  • Experience with production lines

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility. Basic relocation is available for internal candidates.
