Position: Quality Assurance Manager

Location: Boeing EnCore Interiors, LLC, Huntington Beach, CA

Job Duties:

Plan, develop, and coordinate quality assurance programs for company’s aircraft cabin interior assembly products. Ensure the quality management system complies with regulatory, industry, and customer requirements. Collect and analyze aircraft cabin interior assembly samples to evaluate their quality. Perform Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA) and create false proof manufacturing processes to detect and avoid nonconformances. Implement and monitor Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP). Generate cost savings by monitoring Cost of Quality KPI. Set up and improve robust processes in operations. Identify contractual requirements and risks for exposure, and aid to implement mitigation plans. Ensure that division is properly prepared for internal, customer, and/or third-party audits and ensures audits are properly managed. Interface with supply chain department on supplier related issues. Review statistical studies, technological advances, or regulatory standards and trends to stay abreast of issues in the field of quality control. Identify critical points in the manufacturing process and specify sampling procedures to be used at these points.

Full time employment, Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field, and 2 years of related work experience; OR a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field, and 5 years of post-bachelor's, progressive related work experience. 

Of the required experience, must have 2 years of experience in each of the following: 

  • Planning, developing, and coordinating the quality assurance programs for company’s aircraft cabin interior assembly products;

  • Planning and developing product quality by applying APQP and PFMEA;

  • Performing transactions in MRP/ERP systems to close work order, query inventory, receive and inspect product using the MRP/ERP system;

  • Applying Statistical Product Acceptance Requirements using AS9138 standard to create sampling plan with acceptable AQL and switching procedures for receiving inspection, in process inspection, and final inspection; and

  • Applying TQM principles, Lean Six-Sigma, and DFMA methodologies.

Of the required experience, must have 1 year of experience in each of the following: 

  • Applying AS9100 standard associated with quality assurance for the aerospace industry, including interpreting the requirements of AS9100 and ensuring the compliance of its requirements; and

  • Creating, defining, and documenting quality assurance processes and procedures including writing technical procedures in compliance with FAA Part 21, Part 145, AS9100, and customer requirements.

  • Utilizing FARO Arm or CMM metrology equipment.

Domestic and International travel required up to 10%.
