The Boeing Missile and Weapon Systems Team located in St. Charles, MO is seeking an Associate Navigation Engineer (Level 2) to join a diverse Navigation group in developing leading edge military systems and integrating them into a variety of Military Aircraft.  The selected candidate will work on a wide range of programs to primarily support flight test events which would include preparation and post-test efforts.

Position Responsibilities

  • Support the preparation for flight test events.

  • Travel to US and international locations to support flight test activities where you will see in-person the awesome capability of our Air Force, Navy, and international customers.  Most frequent flight test locations are Eglin Air Force Base (AFB) in Florida and Edwards AFB in California.

  • Support the review and analysis of flight test data to ensure compliance to requirements and support generation of the Navigation flight test report appendices.

  • Interact with some of the top navigation equipment suppliers, military experts, and civilian experts while supporting team efforts to design and validate Navigation products.

This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at the listed location.

Work Authorization:

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. (An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required)

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, or physics.

  • 1+ years of experience with computer programming using software languages such as C, C#, C++, FORTRAN, or other common programming languages.

  • 1+ years of experience in writing Technical Documents and Reports.

  • Basic experience with Interface Control Documentation (ICD) requirements and their validation.

  • Ability to quickly develop skills to reduce, manage, and interpret large data sets.

  • Ability to travel 30% domestic and occasionally international

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Basic knowledge of GPS technology.

  • Basic knowledge of inertial navigation systems.

  • Basic experience with interpreting Technical Documentation including specifications and requirements.

  • Previous basic navigation system design or analysis experience.

  • Previous flight test control room experience.

  • Ability to communicate test procedures reliably and efficiently during test events.

  • Ability to quickly develop skills to reduce, manage, and interpret large data sets.

Typical Education & Experience:

Bachelor's and 2 or more years' experience or a Master's degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
