This position will support the Mission Systems Indirect Procurement team carrying out procurement processes, standards, and operational plans, including RFPs, negotiations, and cost analysis. This position will also be responsible for responding to client inquiries about order status, changes, or cancellations to ensure customer satisfaction. The work requires attention to detail, ability to quickly move between tasks and strong organizational skills. The ideal candidate for this role lives in the Cedar Rapids area but will consider a Remote option for the right candidate!

Primary Responsibilities:

•· Prepares purchase orders and negotiates prices to ensure the procurement process goes smoothly, under general guidance.

•· Carries out Procurement processes, standards, and operational plans, including RFPs, negotiation preparations, and cost analysis.

•· Contacts suppliers to schedule or expedite deliveries to ensure resolution of problems such as shortages and missed or late deliveries.

•· Responds to inquiries on order status, changes, or cancellations to ensure customer satisfaction.

•· Develops and maintains good vendor relationships.

•· Performs delivery assurance responsibilities.

•· Normally receives general instructions on routine work, detailed instructions on new projects or assignments. Work is reviewed for soundness of judgment and overall adequacy and accuracy.

Basic Qualifications:

•Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of prior relevant experience OR

•In absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience is required

•Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Bachelor’s degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations

•Requires US citizenship or a US Person/Permanent Resident "Green Card" holder

Preferred Qualifications:

•Thorough knowledge of Supply Chain processes; to include procurement, sourcing, supplier performance.

•Works well in a team environment, highly motivated.

•Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.

•Strong people / motivational, interpersonal, and communication skills.

•Excellent organization skills. Remain calm under pressure and deal with ambiguity.

•Experience in the Aerospace industry

•Knowledge of Continuous Improvement

•Proficient in Excel, Power Point, Project and MRP/ERP systems.
