This position supervises entry and intermediate professional level employees or team leaders of production employees and sets day-to-day goals. Manages cell productivity and guides scheduling, sequencing of work, and production innovation to optimize production.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Manages and ensures all quality management system (QMS) related items for the area are compliant and documented to meet established quality standards
• Leads cost reduction efforts and process improvements for the area by reducing direct charging indirect (DCI) and variation to standard operation times
• Team with planning for scheduling of production to ensure that operations run according to established production schedules
• Leads the sequencing of work, such as assembly, test, paint, final assembly, and inspection for the area to ensure smooth operations and optimal use of resources
• Establishes and drives performance objectives and productivity
• Leads production innovation and cross-training for the area to enhance production capabilities and flexibility
• Partners with Ops Leads, Program Office and other internal customers to understand end customers’ needs to meet their requirements
• Coordinates with manufacturing, engineering, quality, and other internal groups to solve production issues and improve productivity
• Manage the QCPC process for area to ensure turnbacks are collected and projects are completed for major contributors
• Includes activities that cannot be attributed to a defined Operations discipline

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of prior relevant experience OR
• In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required
• Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Bachelor’s degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
• US Citizen is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior supervisory experience in manufacturing is preferred.
• Previous experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement is preferred.
• Previous experience in a bargain unit represented facility is preferred.
