Job Summary:

An exciting opportunity exists for a Senior Process Engineer to join our Advanced Microelectronics Solutions Department (AMSD) at Raytheon Missiles & Defense in Andover, MA. AMSD develops, designs, and manufactures compound semiconductor devices, microwave/millimeter-wave integrated circuits, and modules for defense applications.


As part of the process engineering team, the individual in this role will serve as the 4th shift manufacturing support engineer for the photolithography and metrology workcenters in the RF Components production wafer foundry. 4th shift is defined as Friday-Sunday 5am-6pm. Responsibilities include performing process and equipment qualifications, while diagnosing out of control SPC events, dispositioning wafers, providing solutions, and implementing corrective actions to equipment and/or process conditions. The candidate may also be required to set up CD SEM or overlay jobs as required.
In this role, this individual analyzes questionable WIP for acceptance, scrap, and non-conformance then subsequently dispositions WIP based on process knowledge and product requirements. This individual also will be responsible to train personnel in order to perform operational tasks. The chosen candidate will be expected to work with engineers in various areas of wafer fabrication and process development on next generation technologies. An understanding of basic semiconductor processing and cleanroom experience is desired.


Responsibilities to Anticipate:
  • Disposition of WIP in the photolithography workcenter to support foundry metrics such as scrap, rework, cycle time, etc
  • Support execution of DOEs for process development and tool qualification efforts
  • Act independently to uncover and resolve issues

An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for an additional two years of experience.

Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Five or more years of relevant photolithography experience (eight or more years for consideration for Principal Engineer)
  • Ability to program and troubleshoot lithography equipment such as coat and develop tracks, contact aligners, i-line steppers
  • Experience with metrology tools (CD SEM and IVS Overlay) and data analysis techniques
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

  • Ability to provide operator training and conduct certification evaluation process
  • Ability to create, document, and maintain work instructions
  • Knowledge of Statistical Process Control and related SPC software
