This position is for a Logistics Technician who works under minimal supervision at Collins Interiors Engineering Development Lab (EDL). Serves as the primary Receiving Associate, secondary Shipping Associate and secondary Inventory Control.  Performs moderately complex technical tasks which contribute to the planning and execution of engineering projects. May serve as a resource on varied tasks supporting engineering, prototype and testing & certification.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Works directly with freight carriers to manage daily unloading and receipts of materials.
  • Works directly with buyers and management on issues involving receipts of goods.
  • Supports inventory management responsibilities for the lab.
  • Locating and assisting damaged or lost goods and other discrepancies in receiving.
  • Assist and backup shipping and inventory control associates.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • HS Diploma or Associate's degree (AA/AS) (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience and/or training, OR in the absence of a HS diploma, GED or AA/AS degree, 4 years of relevant experience is required.
  • Proficient with basic inventory, transportation and manufacturing concepts.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills along with the ability to work in a team environment
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, especially Excel

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in a highly regulated industry, especially aerospace or automotive
  • Experience working in a testing and quality assurance environment
  • Well organized with solid judgment; able to multitask and adjust to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic problem solving and root cause analysis concepts
  • Working knowledge of engineering drawing interpretations
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP
