The Senior Contracts Manager creates, drafts, negotiates, and finalizes military Aftermarket contracts.  Provides guidance on government contracting, warranty, high-risk terms, and contract administration.  Engages in process improvements to enhance department function and performance. 

This Senior Contracts Manager is for an experienced professional, working independently who will ideally be located in either Windsor Locks, CT, Rockford, IL, or remote candidate will be considered. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Drafts, generates, interprets, and manages large, Military Repair-focused contractual documents, in accordance with internal and external customer schedules and requests, to ensure these documents properly reflect business objectives. 
  • Understands and applies the FAR, DFARS, and other procurement guidance as needed.
  • Collaborates with and advises Proposal Management Group, Program Management  and various stakeholders on proposal preparation.  
  • Supports, with minimal guidance, the Sr. Manager, Contracts, in soliciting and coordinating input from other organizations during the sales campaign process.
  • Oversees analysis and prepares reports to ensure contracts are within negotiated and agreed-upon parameters and government cost control guidelines.
  • Manages small, mid- and larger-size projects. 
  • Examines and tests existing contracts, to include performing risk management analyses for supply contracts and agreements. 
  • Advises and represents the organization on legal issues concerning contract matters. 
  • Reviews proposal and contractual pricing information. 
  • Negotiates and executes contracts. 
  • Advises on warranty and contract administration. 
  • Prepares documentation for negotiations and relationships.
  • Maintains accurate records for audit and historical purposes.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of prior relevant experience OR
  • Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years experience OR
  • In absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience is required
  • Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience with use and application of FAR/DFARs
  • Experience in Finance, Procurement, Pricing, and/or Program Management
  • Experience working with the U.S. Military a plus
  • Experience in Finance, Procurement, Pricing, and/or Program Management
  • JD and/or MBA preferred, but not required
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Former experience working in the aerospace industry
  • Communication and responsiveness are keys for success
