The Pratt & Whitney Military Engines Provisioning team is looking for an individual to be part of an evolving, globally diverse company that’s moving fast to shape the future of aviation. As part of the team at Pratt & Whitney, you’ll help answer today’s challenges in powered flight while shaping and supporting tomorrow’s solutions. In this Database admin position the employee is expected to perform data base administrator role for SLIC data base that is widely used in Logistic support data management in support of the Military Engine programs. As part of the Military Engines Center of excellence Organization, the Provisioning and LSA team is responsible for ensuring fleet supportability of the propulsion system. Our group provides 24/7 support for aviation customers all around the world.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Identifying who has access to the database
  • Helping build the structure and design of the database
  • Implementing security measures for the data and conducting audit for various instances of SLIC like (F100, F135, F119)
  • Restoring lost data
  • Install service packs, Pub log, new license files as necessary
  • Work with PW DXC team when Oracle production/test server upgrades are made
  • Updating systems when necessary and creating data backups
  • Continually monitoring database systems to ensure appropriate access for all SLIC users and notify all users when software upgrades are made
  • Work together with the Architecture Review Board & be part of the CMMC Remediation effort
  • Be a focal point for loading and delivering logistics data from SLIC database to Lockheed Martin systems for F119, F135 program
  • When new tables are implemented in SLIC database, Review code, write documentation and follow test procedures
  • Be a formal POC between SLIC vendor and PW and work in the best interests of the PW company

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must have a bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering or information systems with a solid work experience of 8 years in database functions.
  • For candidates who have a master’s degree in a relevant field, a solid experience of 4 years in database functions is ideal.
  • Must be a US citizen with an ability to obtain US Govt security clearance, due to military contract requirements.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification requirements- Oracle Database Certification and IBM Certified Database Administrator designation.
  • Prior knowledge Military specifications GEASTD0007/13882B
  • Experience with LSA database SLIC
  • Prior experience in Aerospace industry is a plus
