Sr. Manager, Network Architecture 

 This position will be responsible for delivering network architecture services to drive transformation of the enterprise network by developing principles, blueprints, and standards for LAN and Wireless LAN networks.  Scope of role includes but is not limited to developing technology strategy for one or more of the following technologies - LAN and Wireless LAN, WAN, DDI, Data Center, SDWAN) including conceptuallogical and physical network architectures, Hardware and Software standards, and BU project consulting. 

 

Job Duties & Responsibilities    

  •  Assess business and application requirements for voice and data networks and provide consultation, along with logical and conceptual architectures. 
  • Set architectural guidelines and standards for network and voice for one or more of:  LAN, WLAN, DDI, telephony, and data center networking. 
  • Lead and/or participate in network design activities and projects in support of global, regional, and domestic initiatives  
  • Follow Network architecture / design throughout the lifecycle to ensure the delivered solution adheres to the design or where the design may need to be modified  
  • Partner with applications, BU Architects and Cyber to ensure cohesive guidelines are in place 
  • Develop specifications for Infra engineering to build the architectures and participate in design-related problem resolution 
  • Develop Reference Architectures, Blueprints, and Roadmaps 
  • In all areas of responsibility, the incumbent is responsible for providing full compliance with the “Company Policy Statement on Contracting with the United States Government” and the “Company Code of Ethics”, which include, ensuring subordinate staff are aware of the policies and that their responsibilities and actions comply and support these policies.  
  • In all areas of responsibility which have direct impact on the health and safety of employees and the environment, assure that appropriate safeguards are in place and that the "Company Policy and Principles on Human and Natural Resource Protection" is fully supported and implemented.  
  • Responsible for the completion of specific goals, objectives, and tasks related to this position as assigned by RTX management.  

  

Qualifications   

  • Minimum 7+ years of designing and building cisco-based networks 
  • Certified architect preferred 
  • Proven experience of architecting and designing large scale networks 
  • Proven experience of managing & delivering network architectures for large scale transformative technology programs to enable business growth 
  • Proven experience collaborating across the enterprise to resolve complex technical issues 
  • Proven experience in evaluating technical standards and associated impacts
  • Knowledge of cloud connectivity and software defined networking 
  • TOGAF and ITIL knowledge 
  • Industry certification preferred 

 

Education & Experience: 

Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and a minimum 10 years of experience, or an Advanced Degree and a minimum 7 years experience.

 

Location: 

Remote with travel to other company locations as required

 

Required Status:   US Citizen or US Person required as work may involve visibility to ITAR related projects.
