The Global Strategic Sourcing Machining Commodity is seeking an experienced, energetic, proactive transition specialist. This individual will be responsible for efficiently executing pre-determined projects while adhering to established part transition standard work.  Transition specialist’s success is measured to meeting each project plan. 

This individual can sit at any Collins domestic location or remote.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for communicating effectively with cross-functional departments of Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, Contracts, and Program Management.

  • Responsible for leading weekly project status meetings with key suppliers, monitor successful completion of tasks to ensure timely resolution of issues, develop and execute risk mitigation plans, and champion supplier development and growth opportunities.

  • This position interacts closely with Supply Chain Management Commodity Teams, Business Units, Suppliers and Collins in country teams (Regional Offices). 

Basic Qualifications:

  • This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in the appropriate discipline and 5 years of relevant experience or an Advanced degree in the appropriate discipline and 3 years of relevant experience.  In the absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required

  • Must be willing and able to travel 10% of the time

  • Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder

  • 2+ years experience managing supply chain sourcing initiatives

  • Experience leading cross functional projects

  • Experience with  data management including knowledge of Excel (V-lookup, pivot tables, etc) and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A MBA degree
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a cost reduction or supply chain role in the Aerospace Industry is desired.  Supply Chain Management and/or Operations experience.
  • Experience with SAP and ARIBA
  • A general understanding of Aerospace drawings, specifications, and manufacturing processes
  • Knowledge of export/ITC regulations and policies is preferred as well over a basic knowledge of RTX work transfer standard work (COL 0008)
  • PMP certification
