Work as a member of electronic component engineering team in Windsor Locks, Ct. to provide expertise in the selection and proper application of electronic components used in the design and manufacture of aircraft product electronic designs.   Work with other Electronic Components engineers in locations within the U.S. and India to establish expertise in various electronic component families. In addition, provide support to resolve electronic component procurement and obsolescence issues to support the electronic design and manufacturing facilities.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Working with integrated product development teams to guide part selection for new product design activities
  • Working within component engineering organization to establish part selection criteria and standards to be used throughout the organization
  • Provide technical support to supply base, & commodity buyers for various aerospace electronics products (integrated circuits, magnetics, and electronic assemblies).
  • Creation of new component drawings for use in products
  • Creation of new component test plans
  • Working with procurement and design organization to resolve part shortage and part obsolescence issues
  • Supporting and resolving failure analysis activities on electronic components used in Aircraft Product designs and ensuring corrective action is also incorporated into component selection criteria
  • Performing obsolescence reviews, identification and execution of cost reduction and quality improvement initiatives
  • Performing component qualification and testing

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations OR
  • Advanced Degree in a related field and a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience OR
  • In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required
  • Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder

Preferred Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering or technical discipline
  • 3-4 years’ experience, preferably in the development and test of electronic products
  • 1-2 years Aerospace and/or Automotive Electronic Hardware Design
  • Familiar with industry and military specifications
  • Ability to manage multiple small tasks simultaneously
  • Experience working in a team environment
