The Sr. Service Engineer -Network Security position in Richardson, TX is responsible for performing assignments requiring service of Collins avionics, avionics systems, telecommunications or computer equipment and systems.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Direct or perform; installation, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair and system test and training on site as required in accordance with Collins and customer requirements.

  • Planning and implementing interfaces between Collins and Non-Collins equipment.

  • May be required to act as on-site lead for major field installation or modification programs.

  • Services are performed using Collins approved methods and workmanship standards to ensure optimum equipment operation and customer satisfaction.

  • The Service Engineer supports equipment and systems of high complexity and advanced technology.

  • Competence is required in utilizing developmental techniques for experimental or prototype equipment and during configuration changes in customer systems including interface with Collins and/or Non- Collins equipment.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of prior relevant experience OR

  • Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience OR

  • In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

  • Qualified candidate must hold an active U.S. DoD security clearance or the ability to obtain a U.S. DOD Security Clearance. 

  • Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Bachelor’s degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with DISA STIGs for Windows, SQL Server, Exchange Server, IIS, and Network Devices

  • Experience with Windows OS Security Configuration (Group Policy, Registry Settings, etc.)

  • Experience with x800/x900/4000 series model Cisco Routers and model 2960 Switches

  • Microsoft Certified System Administrator (MCSA) certification or equivalent (MCSE, MCDBA)

  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification or equivalent

  • Experience with network monitoring and management tools

  • Experience with Cisco ASA Security Appliances (Firewalls and IPS)

  • Experience with McAfee ePO Suite and Red Hat Linux
