A Model-Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) Engagements Engineer will drive the implementation of Model-Based Systems Engineering at Raytheon Intelligence & Space (RI&S). You will collaborate with the RI&S Common Engineering solution development teams to implement Model Based Engineering (MBE) capabilities and practices as part of the RI&S standard Digital Engineering Environment. You come to Raytheon Technologies with a strong background in hardware product development combined with experience in MBE and MBSE.

During an engagement, you will lead or mentor junior systems engineers on direct programs, execute trade studies, develop prototypes, create metrics, prepare and present technical information, and you may also act as an MBSE trainer to support the broader adoption of MBSE at RI&S. You may also support engagements on new business activities such as proposal development and the development of reference architectures/designs as needed in support of solution deployment within RI&S.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Driving Systems Engineering processes on your engagements
  • Creating and validating MBSE models including:
    • Stakeholder Needs/Requirements
    • Behavioral Diagrams
    • Structural Diagrams
    • Measures of Effectiveness/Technical Performance Measures
  • Supporting the development of connectivity between MBSE tools and other hardware design/analysis tools
  • Create specifications, interface descriptions, execute trade studies and analyses
  • Lead multiple tool and environment integrations
  • Set direction and roadmaps for Systems Engineering teams
  • Develop and share best practices, mentor, and train others
Clearance requirement: Must be a US Citizen possess an active Top Secret Security Clearance

Required Skills:
  • 10+ years of Systems Engineering experience in a hardware product development environment
  • Familiarity with Mechanical or Electrical design and analysis tools
  • Familiarity with DOORS and DOORS Next Generation and requirements development and management
  • Familiarity with Cameo/MagicDraw/Teamwork Cloud and SysML modeling
  • Familiarity with MagicGrid methodology
  • Experience in developing products in various product development lifecycles including agile and waterfall
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts both up and down the management chain
  • Ability to work independently and ensure project goals are met
  • Experience in integrating COTS solutions
  • Proven technical leader, capable of growing technical teams and mentoring team members
  • Ability to prepare and present status, plans, and risks to management
Desired Skills:
  • Leadership in implementing and accelerating Digital Engineering adoption
  • Familiarity with Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) or Unified Architecture Framework (UAF)
  • Familiarity with Syndeia and/or Ansys ModelCenter
  • Familiarity with digital twin concepts
  • OMG Certified Systems Modeling Professional (OCSMP) – Model User or Model Builder – Fundamental
  • INCOSE Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP)
Education Requirements:
BS/BA degree required, degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM), or Master’s Degree preferred and 10 years of relatable experience.
