In this role  you will be responsible for generating engagements with media outlets and thought leadership activities to help present Raytheon Technologies to external audiences, customers and decision makers. This role demands keen strategic thinking, precise execution and outstanding interpersonal communications skills as the first-line Corporate representative in influential relationships. The position is vital to the new company’s successful relationship, reputation and brand-building strategies and requires deep experience in strategic counsel to senior leaders, and engagement with international, national, regional and trade press.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and execute media engagement strategy and plans to generate media coverage in support of Corporate integrated campaigns and objectives
  • Lead the Company’s rapid response strategy and execution, coordinating across the enterprise for effective engagements
  • Develop and prepare senior leaders and SMEs as spokespeople for global media engagement and presentation of priority or sensitive subjects
  • Provide support to Company earnings releases and other investor-focused media efforts
  • Generate and coordinate press releases and other outreach products
  • Primary interface to International Communications for global strategic initiatives
  • Coordinate with businesses for complementary storytelling and presentation of Company capabilities
  • Build and maintain relationships with customer Public Affairs and communications offices for collaboration opportunities and crisis communication responsiveness
  • Interact with public relations and other agencies for support to media engagement activities
  • Provide research and other support to Media Relations team
  • Support production of daily news reporting products to the CEO, Senior Leadership Team and enterprise Communications professionals
  • Serve as Corporate spokesperson for queries from media reporters and outlets worldwide, as needed
  • Lead Global Media Relations in absence of that team’s lead
  • Provide surge support and/or leadership for Public Affairs team during crises or other priority efforts

Requirements:

  • 12 years experience in Communications with at least 10 years in media relations
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in the aerospace and defense or commercial aerospace industries
  • Exemplary written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate complex subjects in compelling, understandable ways
  • Executive presence with demonstrated experience in effective engagement with senior leaders
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking, acute attention to detail and outstanding time management
  • High degrees of success in collaboration, teambuilding and leadership
